Maximiano Errázuriz, nacido en Santiago en 1832. Pertenecía a una de las familias más tradicionales de la sociedad chilena. Participó activamente en política y, a los 25 años, ocupó por primera vez un asiento en la Cámara de Diputados y llegó a ser electo Senador de la República por 9 años. Fue electo diputado propietario por Osorno, período 1858-1861; integró la Comisión Permanente de Hacienda e Industria. Electo diputado propietario por Vallenar, período 1867-1870. Fue designado ministro plenipotenciario de Chile en Gran Bretaña. Electo diputado propietario por La Serena, período 1870-1873; presidió la Cámara, 2 de junio de 1870 hasta el 6 de junio de 1871. Electo senador propietario, período 1873-1882; integró la Comisión Permanente de Hacienda e Industria; miembro de la Comisión Conservadora para el receso 1874-1875. Fue electo senador subrogante, pero pasó a ser propietario, por Arauco, período 1876-1882; fue electo en 1879, por tres años, como subrogante de Diego Antonio Tagle. Integró la Comisión Permanente de Hacienda e Industria; y fue miembro de la Comisión Conservadora para el receso 1880-1881. Entre otras actividades, desempeñó también, una misión diplomática en Estados Unidos de Norteamérica, año 1865 y representó al país, ante el Imperio Austro-Húngaro. Dejó de existir en su fundo Panquehue, el 17 de noviembre de 1890.
